15 Charter School Graduate Profile At USU, Linares was an undergraduate research fellow majoring in sociology with minors in intersectional gender studies and sexuality studies. Her research projects spanned multiple areas including: the environmental impact of immigration in the United States; the interconnection of food insecurity and disability; and the construction of race, class, and gender in the Mexican American, Chinese American, and Native American school desegregation cases that came before Brown v. Board of Education. For her research and academic success at USU, Linares was named both an undergraduate research scholar and sociology student of the year in 2022, as well as the Valedictorian of the College of Humanities & Social Sciences. She is currently applying for graduate school with plans for a joint JD/PHD in Sociology.
