Many of the 25 donors in attendance had not met Gardner but had contributed to his campaign. The Presidents of both ABA and ICBA attended. FOTB was launched by CBA and two other state associations two years ago, and we are pleased with the performance this election, which saw more 1,000 people donate over $500,000 to each of two races identified as key to the banking industry. we supported Gardner’s campaign as well as that of Joni Ernst of Iowa. FOTB picks only two candidates nationwide to support to concentrate and focus our effort. These two were picked when they were behind in the polls. We’re delighted with both of them winning. Bankers will also have additional opportunities to meet with their Members of Congress and educate them about banking issues during the ABA Government Relations Summit, March 23-25 in Washington. I encourage you to join me on that visit to Washington D.C. Your voice is needed more than ever to fight back and protect and defend your job and your industry. Colorado Bankers cannot afford to sit on the sidelines and silently fall victim to further damaging regulation. n Don Childears President and CEO Colorado Bankers Association
