We are: • Seeking allies from the disabled community. Frivolous litigation takes money away from actual compliance, which is what they want and need. • Establishing other business groups as allies – all busi - nesses are impacted by this. • Researching a federal legislative solution. • Looking into what, if anything, can be done on a state legislative level – banning serial plaintiffs. It is doubt - ful there is a state solution. • Alerting banks and other businesses in an effort to help them minimize their exposure. • Collecting information regarding claimants, plaintiffs and firms involved in these claims/suits. Meanwhile, Colorado Congressman Ken Buck has spon - sored Federal legislation aimed at providing businesses – in - cluding banks – with a time to cure alleged violations before penalties are enforced. ABA is also engaged on this issue and will be sending out more detailed information soon.
