WHERE I’LL BE THIS MONTH I’m taking time this month to visit a few of our members to gain insights and firsthand accounts of the influence regulatory burdens have on their customers and communities. As you read this issue, I also encourage you to think not just about the cost of compliance in your bank, but how onesize-fits-all constraints negatively affect your ability to serve your communities. Share that feedback with ICBA and your regulators because your voice matters. We continue to see examples of new rules that include exemptions for community banks to allow for greater flexibility, precisely because we have effectively demonstrated the negative impacts of excessive regulatory burden.
