most appropriate experience based on the student’s inter- ests and abilities. He is willing to work with all students and has an open mind to finding a place for any level of student who demonstrates a willingness to put the effort in. Dan also takes interns beyond the school day window of time. Students who seek him out are treated as future professionals in a trade career that he truly values. Lastly, Dan makes donations to the CRTC including take- apart engines for students in our year one program. Dan, like most Champions for Children, is a humble man. He expects nothing back. This award is recognition that his efforts do matter and have made a huge positive differ- ence for our auto tech students. CHS/CRTC Nominee: DanWeed Champions for Children I t is our pleasure to nominate Dan Weed as Concord High School / Concord Regional Technical Center’s 2020 Champion for Children. Dan owns Weed Family Automotive, a locally owned garage on Storrs Street that has been serving the Capital Region for 25 years. Dan, despite running a very active business and taking care of every related task of a business owner, has consis- tently carved out portions of his valuable time to give back to our students. Dan has been a very active and vocal member of the CRTC Automotive Technology Advisory Board. He never misses a meeting. In addition, Weed Family Automotive has hosted at least one intern every quarter of the year for more than a decade.
