The Essential Dealership Checklist: Safe Operations During A Pandemic The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has presented several challenges to businesses all over the country. As an essential business in New Hampshire, it is imperative you develop procedures for the safety of your employees, customers, and their families. Use this checklist as a guide to help you continue to operate safely during this crisis. PERSONAL HYGIENE CLEANING Sick employees should stay home and contact their primary care provider Designated Cleaner: Have an employee(s) cleaning all surfaces (tables, doorknobs, light switches, counter tops, handles, desks, phones, keyboards, toilets, faucets, and sinks) throughout the day. Make it visible to consumers. Sick customers should not enter your business Whomever is greeting your customers arriving in cars should immediately be sanitizing the car’s door handles, seating area, steering wheel, etc. Use steering wheel covers and floor mats. Prohibit hand shaking Consider signage to inform your customers about what you are doing to keep them safe by cleaning; sample on last page. Employees should wash their hands before and after contact with customers Encourage customers to wash their hands when entering your business Have highly visible hand sanitizer stations for employees and customers Consider signage explaining updated policies at your entrances and on your website; see last page. Employees and customers that have had close contact with someone who is ill and being monitored for COVID-19 or have traveled recently should not enter your business Have a professional cleaning service clean nightly after business hours 22 D R I V E
