MOTOR VEHICLE COMMISSION DIRECTOR’S MESSAGE Dear Arkansas Automobile Dealers Association Members, I hope this letter finds you well. It is both an honor and a privilege to address you once again as Director of the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission. Since stepping into this role in June 2023 — following 8.5 years at the Attorney General’s Office in Public Protection — I have remained committed to serving Arkansas’s automotive industry with integrity, dedication, and a focus on progress. At the Arkansas Motor Vehicle Commission, our mission is clear: to support independent dealers, promote fairness and healthy competition, and safeguard the interests of the public. We recognize the vital role that local auto dealerships play in our communities — providing essential services, ensuring safety recalls, and facilitating warranty repairs for consumers across rural, suburban and urban areas alike. Your contributions keep Arkansas moving, and we are committed to supporting your success. Over the past two years, we have made great strides in modernizing our operations, including the implementation of the Enterprise Licensing & Permits (ELP) system — a fully online platform designed to streamline licensing and enhance convenience for dealers. As we continue improving ELP, our goal remains the same: to make your interactions with the Commission as seamless and efficient as possible. Beyond licensing, we are proud to invest in the future of the automotive industry through the Automotive Technologist Education Grant Program. Each year, we provide up to $250,000 in funding to secondary and post-secondary institutions across Arkansas, supporting education and training programs in vehicle service and maintenance. This initiative is essential in growing a skilled workforce that will sustain and strengthen our industry for years to come. Our team at the Commission is small but dedicated — we have two full-time investigators, a committed licensing supervisor, and me as director — all ready to assist you with any concerns or challenges you may face. Please do not hesitate to reach out; we are here to help. I want to personally thank you for your continued partnership and collaboration. Together, we can drive Arkansas’s automotive industry forward, ensuring its prosperity for generations to come.
