COMMUNITY NEWS CASA AUTO GROUP PLEDGES $1 MILLION TO DOG PARK PROJECT Casa Auto Group made a $1 million commitment to support the creation of a dog park as part of the future Deck Plaza project, a 6.5-acre park to be constructed over I-10 in downtown El Paso, Texas. The pledge was described as the “first private philanthropic investment” in the Deck Plaza project. The future CASA Auto Group Dog Park, one of the featured amenities identified in the project’s design, will include separate spaces for large and small dogs, creating a welcoming gathering place for residents, visitors and their pets in the heart of El Paso. ANCIRA AUTO GROUP VP EXPANDS ACCESS TO THE ARTS The Tobin Center for the Performing Arts recently recognized April Ancira Thompson, vice president of Ancira Auto Group and a Tobin Center board member, for meeting her $100,000 fundraising goal in support of the center’s charitable programs to expand access to the arts in the San Antonio community. The funds will support the Charlie’s Seats initiative, which provides free and discounted tickets to under-resourced youth, college students, first responders, teachers, active and retired military, and SNAP recipients. The funds will also support transportation scholarships, enabling schools to bring students to experience live performing arts at The Tobin Center.
