Lockhart Motor Company Celebrates Incredible 100-Year Milestone On Sept. 16, Lockhart Motor Company held a huge celebration to commemorate 100 years as a Ford dealer with their current owner, Tim Clark. The dealership came under the ownership of William S. Clark, Tim’s great-grandfather, in 1926. William owned a Buick dealership at the time, and he struck up a conversation with a man operating the Ford dealership nearby. In their conversation, the two men realized they were envious of each other’s franchise and decided to swap dealerships in a simple handshake deal — no paperwork and no money exchanged. Since then, Lockhart Motor Company has been overseen by five generations of the Clark family, and they have worked to establish the dealership as the community staple it is today. The dealership has survived everything from Ford’s production shift for World War II efforts to oil embargoes, inflation, COVID-19 and rapid changes in technology. Through it all, they have never lost sight of what has mattered most and kept the dealership going for the last century: cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with their customers and employees. Lockhart is a small community, so providing consistent, personal service and maintaining a good-standing reputation means everything to them. As they look to the future, they will continue to carry their same core values forward while also embracing the changes that will help them evolve. Congratulations to Lockhart Motor Company on this incredible milestone! Here’s to another 100 years of strong relationships and success. DEALERS’ CHOICE 26
