BY JASON LACROIX CHAIRMAN, NHADA BUILDING CAREERS THAT DRIVE THE FUTURE Across New Hampshire and beyond, the automotive industry is proving to be one of the most resilient and rewarding career paths in today’s economy. While many industries wrestle with the challenges of automation and artificial intelligence, becoming an automotive technician continues to offer something uniquely valuable: job security, meaningful work and the opportunity to grow in a trade that is the backbone of our communities. Recent national reporting underscores this point. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics projects that demand for automotive service technicians and mechanics will remain strong, with over 67,000 job openings annually through 2032. Even as cars become more advanced — infused with AI-driven safety systems and electrification — the human expertise required to diagnose, repair and maintain them is irreplaceable. This is a career where skilled hands and sharp minds will always be in demand. A MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR Note: State and federal unemployment rates are listed on pg. 25. 6
