17 HќќѠіђџȱ юћјђџ юћѢюџѦ 2014 IBA Presents 2014 Board of Directors The activities of the Indiana Bankers Association operate under the guidance of the Association’s board of directors. Acting as governing body of the IBA, the board consists ȱŘŖȱDZȱȱȱĜǰȱ one past chairman, the Association president/CEO, two representatives of national associations, the Future ȱ ȱȱȱ 12 representatives from four IBA geographical regions. The functions of the board are to develop IBA policy and to establish long-range goals and objectives. The board also helps determine IBA’s legislative programs and positions ȱȱěȱȱȱ community. The IBA board acts with the same authority as the board of a bank or a corporation. ȱ ȱ¡ȱĴȱȯȱ ȱȱȱǰȱęȱȱ second vice chairmen, immediate past chairman, Association president/ CEO and two appointed directors — is authorized to act in lieu of the board between regular board ǯȱ ĜȱȱȬ year terms and are elected by the entire membership at the Annual Convention. Members of the 2014 board assumed their positions on ǯȱŗǯȱ ȱȱȱ¢ȱȱ capacities in which they serve. 2IÀFHUV David W. Heeter, IBA chairman, ȱȱ¡ȱĜȱȱȱ of MutualBank, Muncie. He also serves as CEO, president and director of MutualFirst Financial Inc. Heeter joined MutualBank in 1978 and has served in multiple positions, including vice president and executive vice president/chief ȱĜǰȱȱȱȱ to his current titles in 2003. He is vice president of the MutualBank Charitable Foundation Inc. He also is a member of the IU Health Ball Memorial Physicians Board, the Community Foundation of Muncie ȱȱ ȱ ¢ȱęȱ advisory board. A former member of ȱ ȱ ȱ ȱȱ ȱ ¢ȱ ¢ȱ ȱ Advisory Council, Heeter has past leadership experience with the Ball State University College of Business ȱǰȱ ȱ ȱ County Chamber of Commerce, United Way and Muncie Family YMCA. Additionally he is a member ȱȱ ȱ ȱ ȱ Ĵȱȱȱȱȱȱ northeast region director of the IBA board. Heeter is a graduate of Ball State University and of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Larry W. Myersǰȱęȱȱ- man, is president and chief execu- ȱĜȱȱ ȱ ȱ ǰȱ FSB, Clarksville. He also serves on the bank’s board of directors and as president of the First Savings Charitable Foundation. Myers joined First Savings Bank in 2005 as chief operat- ȱĜȱȱ ȱȱȱȱ- rent position in 2006. He previously had served since 1982 with National City Bank, most recently as area president of Southern Indiana. Myers is a member of the St. Louis Federal ȱ ¢ȱ ¢ȱ Institutions Advisory Council, and has been active with the American Bankers Association on the community bank council and past member of the mutual council. He serves the community as vice chairman of the Lincoln Heritage Council of Boy Scouts of America and through One Southern Indiana-Chamber of ǯȱ ȱęȱȱę- cial adviser, Myers has Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. Myers is a member ȱȱ ȱ ȱ ȱ Ĵȱȱȱȱȱ ȱ board as second vice chairman. He earned bachelor’s and MBA degrees from the University of Kentucky and completed the Graduate School of Banking of the South and the Cannon Trust School. Michael H. Head, second vice chairman, is president, chief execu- ȱĜȱȱȱȱȱ ȱ - eral Savings Bank, Evansville, which he joined in 1980. He has served as a board member of the University of Southern Indiana Foundation, the University of Southern Indiana School of Business advisory board, ȱ ȱ ¢ǰȱ ȱ for Humanity of Evansville and the St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation. Professionally Head serves as a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America tax committee. Additionally he is a member of ȱ ȱ ȱ ȱ - Ĵȱȱȱȱȱȱ ȱ board as a southwest region director. Head earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Indiana and an MBA from the University of Evansville. James C. Marcuccilli, immediate past chairman, is president and chief ¡ȱĜȱȱ ȱ ȱ Bank, Fort Wayne, and a director of ȱ ȱ ȱ ǯȱ ȱ ȱ ȱȱȱȱ ȱ ȱ in 1997 after more than 20 years of service and was named to his holding company position in 1985. Marcuccilli is past chairman of the board of Junior Achievement of Northern Indiana and of the Northeast Indiana ȱ ǯȱ ȱ¢ȱ serves on the boards of directors of ȱ ȱ ȱ ȱ ǯǰȱ ȱ ȱȱ - ȱ ȱȱ ȱ ¢ȱ ǯȱ A graduate of the University of Notre ǰȱ ȱȱȱȱ ȱȱ ȱȱǰȱęȱȱ chairman, second vice chairman, region director, a member of the Gov- ȱ ȱ Ĵȱȱ as a key contact banker. He has been named a Sagamore of the Wabash by Gov. Mike Pence. S. Joe DeHaven, IBA president ȱȱ¡ȱĜǰȱȱ the Association as president and ȱȱĜȱȱŘŖŖŜǰȱȱȱ result of the merger of the Community Bankers Association of Indiana (CBAI) and the IBA.
