Alliance Bank, Francesville, announced in October they plan to build a new office on the Oxford Town Square. The new building will be built on the opposite corner of their current location, a set of historic buildings where their predecessor State Bank of Oxford opened more than 120 years ago. Bank leadership said they made the difficult decision to move after careful evaluation showed the historic buildings no longer fit the needs of their team. On the same day, Alliance announced they have donated their historic buildings at 100 S. Justus St. and 108 S. Justus St. along with the employee parking lot to Discover Oxford Indiana Inc., an Indiana Main Street affiliate. While the donation to Discover Oxford was immediate, the bank will continue to lease its current space back from the organization until its new facility at 201 S. Howard St., is complete. That timeline has not been announced. Centier Bank, Merrillville, cut the ribbon on its relocated downtown Fort Wayne branch on Thursday, Oct. 17. The 13,500-square-foot branch at 127 W. Berry St. represents the largest interior renovation in the bank’s 129-year history, with design work done in collaboration with IBA associate member Design Collaborative, which is headquartered in Fort Wayne. Located in the newly renamed Centier Bank Building, existing architectural and interior design elements were left intact, including the lobby’s limestone details, ornate ceilings and trim, and impressive columns.
