T Laurie A. Rees Vice President – Education & Training Indiana Bankers Association LRees@indiana.bank Cyber, Fraud & Physical SECURITY CONFERENCE BY LAURIE A. REES, INDIANA BANKERS ASSOCIATION The IBA’s security conference has evolved over the years as security needs have evolved at our member banks. Now called the Cyber, Fraud & Physical Security Conference, our latest event continued that evolution by not just offering education in all three named categories, but splitting into three separate tracks so bank employees could focus on their specific area of responsibility for the entire event. More than 150 attendees gathered at the Embassy Suites in Noblesville on Aug. 28-29 to learn the latest on artificial intelligence in banking, bank robberies and active threats, instant payment fraud, advanced cybersecurity testing and more. The combination of private sector experts and law enforcement personnel who spoke provided attendees with a unique opportunity to enhance cyber, fraud and physical security practices, foster collaboration and exchange knowledge on effective strategies. New Dates The 2025 conference is moving from our normal fall dates to the spring – April 16-17, back at the Embassy Suites in Noblesville. Laurie is responsible for planning, designing and implementing IBA educational offerings, including schools, seminars, executive-level forums and webinars. She is also the IBA’s liaison for the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and a member of the GSB Education Directors Advisory Group. F E ATUR E 44 HOOSIERBANKER
