Hoffmeyer Honored with Statewide Award Evan Hoffmeyer, the Indiana Bankers Association’s vice president of communications, was honored by the Indiana Society of Association Executives as Association Professional of the Year at an awards gala on Dec. 12, 2024. Hoffmeyer joined the Association in August 2022 and is responsible for all the IBA’s print and digital communications, including serving as managing editor for Hoosier Banker, script writing for the Association’s three largest events, assisting with executive and advocacy messaging, managing media relations and more. Since taking over as head of the communications department in January 2023, he has ushered the magazine through a redesign plus two RFP processes that resulted in both a 35% decrease in printing costs and the creation of new revenue streams. Beyond his communications work, Hoffmeyer was tasked with serving as staff liaison for the Association’s DEI Committee, which created an actionable product that was distributed to the entire membership for use at their discretion. Hoffmeyer is in his fifth year serving on ISAE’s Government Affairs Committee and his third year serving as the committee’s co-chair. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he completed all the prerequisites for a professional designation in association management, including more than 150 hours of approved continuing education. He served on the alumni association board of directors at the University of the Ozarks, where he earned his bachelor’s degree. He also earned a master’s degree from Ball State University, graduated from the IBA Leadership Development Program and is certified in association digital marketing. JANUARY/FEBRUARY 2025 55
