BANKING CENTER NEWS Bank of America, Charlotte, North Carolina, opened two new Central Indiana banking centers in March. A Westfield location was opened at 14933 Thatcher Ln. in Carmel, and the second location is at 6859 E. U.S. Highway 36 in Avon. The bank marked the branch openings with a partnership with Gleaners Food Bank to collect nonperishable food items at all 21 of its banking centers in the Indianapolis market, supporting Gleaners’ network partners Light and Life Food Pantry in Avon and Merciful HELP Center in Carmel. 1st Source Bank, South Bend, cut the ribbon on two branches in February – a renovated banking center at 3655 Portage Ave. in South Bend and a new banking center at 110 N. Market St. in Winamac. The Portage Avenue renovations included converting it to the bank’s side-by-side banking model that invites clients behind the teller line, allowing clients and bankers to have a more transparent and inclusive experience and relationship. The Feb. 10 ribbon cutting included a $500 donation to Transformation Ministries. The Winamac location also features the side-by-side design.
