Staff SPOTLIGHT The Indiana Bankers Association has welcomed three new staff members over recent months. Be sure to say hello the next time you come to the IBA offices for an educational opportunity or attend an IBA conference! Chris Fisher President & CEO, Financial Services Academy The IBA is creating a first-of-its-kind statewide banking apprenticeship program for high school students. Chris is charged with leading this ambitious endeavor to further the industry’s workforce development efforts. He collaborates with leaders in banking, government, K-12, higher education, workforce development and other financial services organizations in the creation of a robust apprenticeship program that will serve Indiana students and financial institutions as the premier financial services apprenticeship program in the country. Chris has a passion for helping students reach their career goals and developing programs which provide students with a pathway to college or employment. He has served on a variety of boards and committees focused on employability and was the founding member of a program which encouraged youth to return to rural communities after college graduation. Before joining the IBA and FSA, Chris worked for Ball State University and Ivy Tech Community College, where he developed relationships throughout Indiana. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Kearney and a master’s degree from Arizona State University. Sara Holmes Curriculum & Pathway Manager, Financial Services Academy Sara leads the development of the banking apprenticeship pathway, developing curriculum, courses and certifications for the Financial Services Academy. She joined the Academy in May after 10 years in K-12 public education plus two years in adult education. Sara volunteers with the parent-teacher organization at her children’s schools and was recognized with the Governor’s Public Service Achievement Award for developing and leading a program with measurable, positive impact on state agencies. She earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Indiana University. Molly Gibbs Events and Products/Services Assistant Molly coordinates logistics for IBA events, manages registrations and provides customer service to event attendees. She also supports event marketing and helps manage follow-up communications and member resources. Molly joined the Association in March with prior experience with event coordination and logistics as a recreation coordinator for the Town of Brownsburg’s Parks & Recreation department. Outside the IBA, Molly coaches volleyball for Tri-West High School and Rev Volleyball Academy. She graduated from the University of Indianapolis. F E ATUR E 54 HOOSIERBANKER
