MARSH MCLENNAN AGENCY, COVERAGE THAT’S A STEP ABOVE An Interview with Sean and Kevin McCutcheon Brothers Sean and Kevin McCutcheon grew up around the insurance industry. Their father, Pat, was a local agent with PayneWest Insurance. Pat formed a relationship with the Montana Automobile Dealers Association on an exclusive Workers’ Compensation program for the MTADA member dealers. When it came time for Sean and Kevin to choose their own careers, insurance was not on the top of their list. “I was working as a loan officer at a bank,” Sean recalled. “Kevin told me about an opportunity he was taking with Cincinnati Insurance, so I looked into it and decided to give it a try as well.” The brothers moved to Ohio and spent almost three years working as Commercial Insurance Underwriters. It was a great opportunity to work on the insurance carrier side. When positions became available on the PayneWest team, the two did not hesitate, they packed up their belongings and moved back to Big Sky Country. Now, 20 years later, some things have changed, but much has stayed the same. PayneWest is now Marsh McLennan Agency and Pat has since retired. Sean, Kevin and their team are still managing MTADA’s workers’ compensation program, and they specialize in helping auto dealers get the most out of their insurance. “It’s been a blessing to work on both sides of insurance, the underwriting side and then on the agent side,” Kevin said. “As an agent, being able to interact directly with dealers and get to know them on a personal level has made all the difference.” “We make it a point to be at MTADA events and the yearly convention,” Sean said. “We’ve gotten to know the dealers and their families, and it’s been a wonderful experience. After all, people do business with people they know, like and trust, and we value our relationship with the MTADA and each of the dealers we are privileged to know and help.” Marsh McLennan Agency offers all lines of insurance, from property liability to garage liability and dealer’s open lots, just to name a few.
