CHAIRMAN’S COLUMN FINISHING STRONG AND LOOKING AHEAD AS WE BEGIN 2026, I WANT TO TAKE A moment to reflect on what has truly been a landmark year for our association and for North Carolina’s franchised new automobile, truck and RV dealers. From the halls of the General Assembly to dealerships in every corner of the state, the unity and engagement of NCADA members made a real difference in 2025. Our industry faced challenges and opportunities alike — and once again, we rose to the occasion. Working together with our legislative champions, NCADA secured major victories to modernize and protect North Carolina’s franchise system. We witnessed new leadership emerge within our association, implemented a new association management system to enhance operations, and relaunched programs such as the Young Leaders Group to engage the next generation of leaders. Most importantly, we continued to tell the story of what our dealers mean to the communities they serve. I also want to thank everyone who attended and supported the NCADA Executive Forum in Durham in December. This event remains one of the most impactful gatherings of the year, where our industry comes together to hear from policymakers, share ideas, and celebrate the remarkable first responders honored through our Hometown Heroes program. Your engagement at the forum sent a clear message that NCADA’s members are committed, informed and united. As we move forward into 2026, I would like to personally encourage each member to make or renew their commitment to the NCADA AutoPAC and the NCADA Victory Fund. These programs play a key role in ensuring that our industry’s voice is heard and that policymakers understand the real-world impact of their decisions. Much of the progress we’ve made over the years has been possible because of the collective engagement these efforts support. If you haven’t yet contributed this year, please consider doing so. Your participation, at any level, truly makes a difference. On behalf of the NCADA officers and board of directors, thank you for making 2025 another year of progress, purpose and pride. Your support — through membership, participation and advocacy — is what makes NCADA one of the strongest dealer associations in the country. I look forward to working together as we build on last year’s momentum throughout 2026. Here’s to a strong start to 2026 and another year of success. Rob L. King III Bob King Automotive 2025-2026 NCADA Chairman 4

PRESIDENT’S COLUMN LEADING WITH UNITY AS WE ENTER THE NEW YEAR, I’M struck by how much has changed — and how much remains worth protecting — in North Carolina’s automobile industry. Our industry is evolving at a pace few could have imagined even a decade ago. From electric vehicles and digital retailing to manufacturer restructuring and supply chain realignments, the landscape is shifting quickly. Yet, amid all that change, two things remain constant: the strength of the franchise system and the commitment of North Carolina dealers to their customers and communities. In 2025, NCADA members once again showed what it means to work together with a unified voice. Through the support of our board, our legislative team and dealer advocates across the state, we successfully advanced landmark updates to North Carolina’s franchise laws — reforms that ensure fair treatment for dealers, strengthen consumer protections and provide clarity for the years ahead. Those achievements didn’t happen by accident; they happened because our members stayed engaged, informed and active. Looking forward, new conversations are emerging around how vehicles will be sold, serviced and supported. And even as some manufacturers continue pushing direct-sales strategies to bypass the franchise system, the evidence is clear: the franchise system works. It works for consumers, who benefit from real competition and local accountability. It works for manufacturers, who gain trusted partners that invest millions in facilities, technology and customer satisfaction. And it works for North Carolina, where dealerships employ over 37,000 people and generate more than $1 billion in annual state and local tax revenue. At the same time, NCADA continues to modernize its own operations to better serve our members. With the launch of our new association management system, integrated accounting platform and refreshed communications tools, we’re streamlining how we connect with members, track engagement and deliver information. These updates aren’t just about efficiency — they’re about positioning NCADA for the next generation of leadership and service. Through all the changes ahead, one thing will not waver: our commitment to representing the interests of North Carolina’s franchised dealers — fairly, factually and with purpose. Together, we will continue to strengthen an industry that drives our state’s economy, supports our communities, and ensures that North Carolina remains one of the best places in the nation to buy, sell and service a vehicle. Thank you for your continued trust, support and partnership. I look forward to working alongside you in 2026 as we protect what works, embrace what’s next, and continue to lead with strength and unity. John Policastro NCADA President 6

NCADA LAUNCHES NEW AMS AND WEBSITE TO STREAMLINE MEMBER EXPERIENCE THIS IS AN EXCITING TIME FOR OUR association. NCADA has adopted a new association management software, Novi, marking a major step forward in how we serve our members. As of late October 2025, we officially transitioned to this new platform, built specifically with associations in mind. Our board and staff believe Novi is the best fit for both the present and the future of NCADA. It is designed to enhance efficiency, simplify processes and better connect our members with the resources and information they need. This investment sets our association up for continued success, ensuring we can meet the evolving needs of our members and the industry for years to come. So, what makes Novi such a game-changer? For starters, it was built by association professionals who understand the unique challenges of member-based organizations. It brings together a powerful set of tools designed to make both the member experience and our internal operations smoother and more connected than ever before. Members will notice improvements right away. With Novi’s personalized Member Compass, you can manage your profile, renew your membership, register for events, view or pay invoices, and access NCADA resources all from one convenient dashboard. Dealers and their employees have full control over their profiles and dealership information, including updating logos, headshots, website links, social media accounts and more. You can also manage your team by adding them to your family tree, ensuring your staff has access to the resources they need to stay connected and informed. The platform includes a searchable dealer directory with a handy map for easy navigation, making it simple for members and the public to find NCADA dealers. Scan the QR code to start utilizing the dealer directory. https://www.ncada.com/dealermembers?MapView=true All invoices are accessible in one centralized location, and payments can be made via ACH, credit card or check, creating a streamlined hub for all interactions with the association. Behind the scenes, Novi improves accounting operations through seamless integration with the NCADA accounting platform, making processes smoother and more efficient for our staff while helping us provide timely and accurate information to our members. Event registration is simpler and more convenient than ever, with built-in member pricing and flexible payment options. Communication is also stronger, with improved outreach and segmentation tools that ensure you receive timely, relevant updates about the issues, events and opportunities that matter most to your dealership. Combined with a modern, mobile-friendly design, members can now connect with NCADA anytime, anywhere. Along with the new AMS comes a refreshed NCADA website with the same familiar URL but a completely updated experience. The site offers a clean, intuitive layout that makes it easy to find news, resources and event information, all integrated seamlessly with the new AMS for a unified experience. As part of this transition, we encourage every member to visit our website and create a user profile. Simply click Login in the top right corner, and you will be prompted to set up your account. From there, you will have access to your Member Compass, your one-stop shop for everything NCADA, helping you save time and engage with your association more effectively than ever before. This upgrade represents more than just a new system. Novi gives us the tools to serve our very own dealer members more efficiently, communicate more effectively and continue building a stronger, more connected association for the future. By putting more control in the hands of our members and offering a seamless, integrated platform, NCADA is setting the standard for how associations can support their communities today and in the years to come. Visit www.ncada.com to experience the new and improved platform. 8

FROM OCT. 27-29, NCADA’S BOARD OF directors convened in Louisville, Kentucky, for its fall meeting, bringing together dealer leaders to discuss priorities and initiatives shaping the association’s direction for 2026. The agenda centered on key discussions that will help guide NCADA’s advocacy and strategic focus in the year ahead. Board members reviewed the status of significant federal and state legislative issues, including the association’s requested comprehensive franchise law legislation enacted into law this past summer. Members also examined plans for upcoming NCADA Family Convention and discussed efforts to strengthen the franchise system to ensure its continued success in a rapidly evolving automotive industry. The board also received an update on DMV modernization efforts and reviewed progress on NCADA’s new management and accounting systems, which are designed to improve efficiency and enhance member services. These discussions are indicative of the board’s commitment to advancing initiatives that deliver long-term value to dealers and the communities they serve. While the focus remained on association business, the meeting also provided time for members to connect and continue building the relationships that strengthen NCADA’s leadership network. The insights and collaboration shared during the fall board meeting will play a vital role in shaping NCADA’s work throughout 2026, and in ensuring that North Carolina’s franchised dealers will remain well represented at every level. A DEDICATED GROUP OF NCADA leaders, including members of the executive committee and board, traveled to Washington, D.C., last fall for the 2025 NADA Washington Conference. This annual event brought dealer leaders from across the nation together to make their voices heard on critical policy issues impacting the automotive retail industry. The Washington Conference has long served as one of the most important opportunities for dealers to engage directly with lawmakers and national decision makers. For NCADA’s delegation, it was a chance to represent the interests of North Carolina’s franchised dealers on the national stage and to help shape conversations that influence the future of automotive retail. Throughout the conference, attendees heard from national industry experts and public policy leaders who shared updates on federal legislation, regulatory changes and economic trends affecting the dealership community. These sessions provided valuable insight into the challenges and opportunities facing dealers in the coming year, from electric vehicle adoption and infrastructure development to workforce needs and consumer demand. Following the conference sessions, NCADA’s delegation visited Capitol Hill to meet with members of Congress and key policymakers. These face-to-face discussions allowed North Carolina’s dealer leaders to share real-world stories about how proposed legislation and regulatory shifts impact local dealerships, employees and customers. By offering firsthand perspectives, our members helped illustrate the vital role franchised dealers play in driving local economies and supporting communities across the state. Dealer participation at events like the NADA Washington Conference is essential to ensuring that the voice of the automotive retail industry remains strong and unified. Every conversation, meeting and connection made in Washington helps advance policies that support fair competition, consumer choice and the long-term health of the dealership model. We extend a sincere thank you to all our members who attended and actively participated in the conference. Your presence helped amplify North Carolina’s priorities and ensured our state’s perspective was well represented among national leaders. Beyond advocacy, the Washington Conference also provided an invaluable opportunity for networking and collaboration. NCADA’s leaders connected with dealer association executives and peers from across the country, exchanging best practices and innovative ideas that can help strengthen dealerships at home. NCADA LEADERSHIP ADVOCATES FOR DEALERS 2025 NADA Washington Conference Recap 10

These conversations fostered a sense of shared purpose and collaboration that will continue to guide our work throughout 2026 and beyond. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, NCADA remains committed to keeping North Carolina’s dealers informed, engaged and represented. The efforts of those who attend and participate in events like the Washington Conference make a lasting impact, not just in policy but in ensuring that our collective voice continues to shape the road ahead. Thank you to Chairman Rob King, Vice Chairman Brad Tyson, Treasurer Mary Margaret Latham, Secretary Lawrence White, Board Members Mitch Abernethy and Grant Loftin, and Member Tim Sparks for representing our state and ensuring North Carolina dealerships’ voices were heard on the national stage. 11

2026 TIME DEALER OF THE YEAR NOMINEE ALYCIA KELLUM Dealer Principal and Executive Manager of Don Williamson Nissan ALYCIA KELLUM IS ONE OF A SELECT group of 47 dealer nominees from across the country who will be honored at the 109th annual National Automobile Dealers Association (NADA) Show in Las Vegas, Nevada, on Feb. 5, 2026. The TIME Dealer of the Year award is one of the automobile industry’s most prestigious and highly coveted honors. The award recognizes the nation’s most successful auto dealers who also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to community service. Kellum was chosen to represent the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association in the national competition — one of only 47 auto dealers nominated for the 57th annual award from more than 20,000 nationwide. A second-generation leader who “earned it from the ground up,” Kellum built her career outside the family store before returning to Jacksonville. She began as a receptionist at Tallberg Chevrolet in Wilmington, moved into the office, became a service advisor and then a top-performing sales professional — later joining Rippy Cadillac as a closer while completing her degree at the University of North Carolina Wilmington (BA in Economics). After graduating from the NADA Dealer Academy in 2005, she returned to Don Williamson Nissan and stepped into finance before taking the helm to lead a turnaround. “I grew up around the car business, but my dad made me earn my way,” Kellum said. “Working every role — from receptionist to service to sales — taught me to outwork doubt and put customers first. Those years shaped the leader I am today.” Taking leadership of the dealership was the defining risk of her career. “On paper, I had the training, but real leadership meant building the right team, enforcing accountability and learning through tough lessons,” she noted. “We even absorbed a significant incentive penalty early on. It hurt, but it made us stronger, more resilient and more disciplined.” Under Kellum’s direction, Don Williamson Nissan undertook a full NREDI-compliant rebuild, tearing down the outdated facility and opening a state-of-the-art dealership in 2013 featuring a drive-in service department, expansive customer lounge and an air-conditioned shop. Continued reinvestment has followed, including comprehensive interior and exterior updates in 2024 and approval for Nissan’s new corporate brand sign. The result: higher sales and service volume, stronger retention and a modern, welcoming environment for guests and employees. Employee wellness is a hallmark. In 2024, Kellum launched an on-site spin studio with 10 bikes and weekly instructor-led classes in partnership with Iron Forged Fitness, added an Employee Assistance Program, flexible time for medical needs and friendly competitions like a “Biggest Loser” challenge with a $500 award. “Healthy teams serve customers best,” she said. “We invest in people first — because people are the core of our business.” Kellum also strengthened compliance and process discipline. After an FTC audit (2011-2014 deals) concluded with no findings, the store modernized sales logs, instituted monthly internal audits of every deal and centralized complaint tracking — changes that continue to anchor transparency and trust. Over the last 18 months, the dealership focused on grow-from-within leadership, data-driven inventory discipline and relationship programs that link service loyalty to repeat and referral sales. Two rising associates — Isaiah (promoted to sales manager) and Sebastian (promoted to finance) — were paired with KPIs, one-on-ones and training. Inventory reviews now occur twice weekly to align ordering with demand, reducing carrying costs and keeping floorplan balances 14

healthy. A refreshed referral program rewards introductions and recognizes salespeople who convert service guests. “Right people, right mix, right follow-up — that’s how we compound trust and results,” Kellum said. Customer care at Don Williamson Nissan is personal. When a new Frontier experienced unusual issues days after delivery, Kellum replaced the vehicle immediately — at the dealership’s expense — rather than asking the customer to wait for corporate approvals. The family has since purchased and serviced multiple vehicles and introduced Kellum to causes such as the Alzheimer’s Association. “Where others see a transaction, we see a relationship,” she said. “Doing the right thing pays long-term dividends for customers and for our culture.” Deeply embedded in Onslow County, Kellum and her team sponsor and serve across family and youth initiatives: Zing Zumm Children’s Museum (lead sponsor of early fundraising; $35,000+ contributed), “Dancing with the Stars” for the Onslow Women’s Center, One Place Onslow’s Diamonds & Denim, youth sports and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (“Game Changers”) in local schools. The dealership’s annual Trunk or Treat combines a safe family event with a canned goods drive for the local soup kitchen, and Hometown Heroes events honor first responders. “Nearly 30 years after my father served as NCADA chair — and 26 years after he was North Carolina’s first national TIME/Ally Dealer of the Year winner — I’m humbled to carry that legacy forward,” Kellum added. “This business lets us serve our team, our guests and our community.” Dealers are nominated by the executives of state and metro dealer associations around the country. A panel of faculty members from the Tauber Institute for Global Operations at the University of Michigan will select one finalist from each of the four NADA regions and one national Dealer of the Year. Three finalists will receive $5,000 for their favorite charities, and the winner will receive $10,000 to give to charity, donated by Ally. In its 14th year as exclusive sponsor, Ally also will recognize dealer nominees and their community efforts by contributing $1,000 to each nominee’s 501(c)3 charity of choice. Nominees will be recognized on ally.com/go/tdoy, which highlights the philanthropic contributions and achievements of TIME Dealer of the Year nominees. “At TIME, our commitment to recognizing the exceptional contributions of automotive dealers remains as strong as ever,” said Jessica Sibley, CEO of TIME. “The TIME Dealer of the Year award continues to celebrate those who not only excel in their profession but also make a meaningful impact in their communities. We are thrilled to continue this legacy in partnership with Ally.” Doug Timmerman, Ally president of Dealer Financial Services, said, “Auto dealers are the backbones of their communities, providing civic support and significant business leadership. Ally is proud to recognize the unwavering commitment these TIME Dealer of the Year nominees are living every day through their volunteerism, sponsorships and support of charitable causes. They are the epitome of community heroes, making important and positive impacts in the lives of the people they serve.” Kellum was nominated for the TIME Dealer of the Year award by the North Carolina Automobile Dealers Association. She and her husband, Steven, have six children: Emily (Grace), Meredith, Benjamin, Ryleigh, Porter and Brittany. 15

NCADA REPRESENTED AT eSTART COALITION FORUM Last September, NCADA President John Policastro participated on a panel at the inaugural eSTART Coalition Modernization Forum. The Electronic Secure Title and Registration Transformation (eSTART) Coalition is a group of aligned stakeholders — including government, industry partners, associations and others — with a shared belief in the value of modernizing title and registration processes across the country. The coalition is focused on advancing improvements by advocating for modern solutions to replace the paper-based processes that still dominate state and local DMV operations. NCADA joined the eSTART Coalition last year as part of the association’s broader efforts to move DMV modernization forward in North Carolina. During the panel discussion, Policastro shared insights on the status of modernization efforts in North Carolina and highlighted the key priorities of the LOCAL DEALER MEETINGS From early September through late November, NCADA traveled across North Carolina for local dealer meetings in Fayetteville, Asheville, Wilmington, Asheboro, Raleigh/Durham, New Bern/ Jacksonville, Burlington, Charlotte, Greensboro and Rocky Mount. Each stop brought together dealers and associate members to discuss issues shaping the industry’s future, exchange ideas and weigh in on NCADA’s priorities for the year ahead. state’s franchised dealers. He noted the importance of improving system reliability, streamlining e-titling and registration workflows, ensuring dealer access to real-time data, and creating a smoother experience for both dealers and consumers. He also emphasized that modernization must be carried out with an eye toward transparency, accountability and collaboration among dealers, state leaders and technology partners. Policastro also stressed that the ultimate measure of success for these initiatives is in how they impact the consumer experience. By reducing delays, eliminating redundant paperwork and enabling more seamless transactions, dealers will be able to deliver faster, more efficient service that strengthens customer trust and loyalty in an increasingly competitive market. 20

The year’s meetings covered critical topics, including 2025 franchise law legislation, new dealer protections, DMV modernization efforts, and the move of the License and Theft Bureau to the State Highway Patrol. The conversations were lively and collaborative, reflecting the commitment and engagement of North Carolina’s dealer community. NCADA extends sincere thanks to all dealers and associate members who attended, contributed insights and helped shape the association’s work. Your participation ensures that every voice is represented and strengthens the collective impact of dealers statewide. We also extend a special thank-you to Ally, our sponsor for this year’s meetings, for making these important statewide conversations possible. 21

TITLE CLERK SEMINAR NCADA’s fall Title Clerk Seminar brought together title professionals from across the state for a day centered on the fundamentals that keep dealership deals moving. This year’s session blended core training with real-world discussions, giving both new and experienced clerks the chance to strengthen their understanding of basic titling practices, common workflow issues and everyday challenges that come across dealership desks. DMV training staff guided participants through essential procedures, frequently overlooked details, and practical steps that help prevent delays and rejections. The seminar maintained an easygoing, conversational pace — the kind where questions flowed, experiences were shared and the room worked through scenarios together. In addition to refreshed foundational skills, attendees walked away with timely clarifications that are sure to make a measurable difference back at the store. Finally, a question raised during the seminar led to an important clarification for all dealerships: Did You Know? Temporary Driving Certificates (TDCs) cannot be used to title or register vehicles from dealer sales — even when presented with an NC or out-of-state driver license. A hard-copy driver license is required in every case. 22

FAYETTEVILLE DEALERS DONATE TO NCADA VICTORY FUND The Fayetteville New Car Dealers Association (FNCDA) generously contributed $25,000 to the NCADA Victory Fund during our recent local dealer meeting in Fayetteville. They have made this an annual tradition, and we deeply appreciate their ongoing commitment to our cause. The NCADA Victory Fund is vital to our work. It helps fund NCADA’s legislative and consumer-focused educational initiatives, assists in defending and promoting legislation that strengthens the franchise retail system, and provides resources for other industry issues where NCADA’s involvement is needed. FNCDA has issued a challenge to other local dealer associations to step up and match their contribution to the Victory Fund. We are grateful to the Fayetteville New Car Dealers Association for their generosity, and to everyone who joined us for a fantastic conversation at the Fayetteville meeting.
