Watch the UAPA/UDOT Hi-Mod Asphalt Technical Webinar On Dec. 17, 2025, the Utah Asphalt Pavement Association and Utah Department of Transportation collaborated to host a special technical webinar on Utah’s Highly Modified (Hi-Mod) asphalt mix. Featuring experts from UDOT, industry producers, suppliers and contractors, the session provided a comprehensive look at Hi-Mod design, performance, construction, hauling, milling and field results, followed by an informative Q&A session. This meeting was specifically designed to address the numerous questions UAPA professionals and leadership have received about Utah’s Hi-Mod. Howard Anderson from UDOT shared the Department’s perspective, including performance results and key lessons learned that have contributed to successful implementation. Additional presenters, including Chris Campbell (Granite Construction), Brody Young (Peak Asphalt), Victor Johnson (Geneva Rock) and Skyler Droubay (Double D Transport), shared their own insights and lessons learned from producing, supplying, transporting and placing Hi-Mod in the field.
