IN MEMORIAM Lynn Allen Jones, AIA 1942-2024 Lynn Allen Jones, AIA, passed away from complications of Parkinson’s disease on Oct. 7, 2024. He was born on Jan. 19, 1942, in Midvale, Utah, to Laura McBride Jones and Horace T. Jones. Lynn was raised in Sandy, Utah, with his three brothers and two sisters. Lynn attended the University of Utah and graduated with a degree in architecture. His successful career spanned over 36 years with MHTN Architects, where he had experience as a project architect, project manager and business development leader, and served as firm president from 1996-2005. He was a respected member of the architecture community and was awarded Architect of the Year by Sandy City in 1996. Over his career, Lynn was involved with many notable building projects throughout the Salt Lake Valley, but none more important than designing his family’s home in Sandy. Lynn’s influence over his long career with MHTN was profound, helping to shape the spirit of the firm. His vision and understanding of design were central to guiding MHTN through significant periods of growth and transformation. Lynn’s legacy is one of lasting impact — reflected not only in the remarkable projects he helped bring to life but also in the many people he mentored along the way.
