I look back and think I almost didn’t make it that one year I had to take off. I just didn’t know what else I was going to do if I didn’t make it. I just loved doing what I’ve done and met some of the best people. Advice for younger architects? You are going to love the business. It is so rewarding. You get to see what you imagine in your mind. Don’t be discouraged if you’re not the best designer in the office. There are lots and lots of jobs available for architects, so find what it is that you like to do. I kind of wish architecture schools introduced architects to all the different avenues available. I have not sat down at a drawing table since 1989, and I have loved it. I have loved doing what I’m doing and being able to work with the architects.
