Changes in KBA’s Legal and Compliance Services Management The January retirement of KBA’s EVP-General Counsel Kathy Taylor has brought changes to the management of the KBA’s legal and compliance services offered to member banks. Terri Thomas, JD, has transitioned to the EVP-General Counsel role. Terri joined the KBA in 2006 and previously served as EVP-Director of KBA’s Legal and Compliance Services. Her new duties will include serving as legal counsel to the association. She will also oversee the KBA’s legal and compliance operations; however, she will not be involved in the day-to-day management of these areas. Jamie Cosgrove, JD, has been promoted to SVP-Director of Legal Services. Jamie joined the KBA in 2023 as KBA Legal Department Manager. Jamie came to the KBA with over 20 years of banking experience. In her new role, she will supervise the legal services provided by the KBA Legal Department to the general membership, as well as the assistance provided to participating banks in Bankers Consulting Services LLC. Sarah Lynch-Chaput, JD, has been promoted to VP-Legal Department Manager. Sarah joined the KBA in 2022 as a legal intern and accepted a full-time position as a Staff Attorney with the Legal Department in 2024. In addition to ensuring legal and compliance questions from Kansas banks are addressed, her duties will include overseeing the production of the department’s manuals, including Legal Update, Account Documentation and Lending Fundamentals. Hannah Schroller-Simpson, JD, has transitioned from working with banks as part of the Compliance First Banking Solutions outsourced compliance program to now working with Sarah in the KBA Legal Department as VP-Staff Attorney. On the compliance side of the KBA operation, Jeff Naron, CRCM, AAP, has been promoted to VP-Assistant Manager, having the primary responsibility of managing Compliance First Banking Solutions’ audit services.
