21 Hoosier Banker December 2015 Ben Joergens, financial empowerment officer of Old National Bank, Evansville, has been nationally recognized for his service to the community and the banking industry with the American Bankers Association George Bailey Distinguished Service Award, and Old National Bank has been honored with the ABA Financial Education Community Commitment Award. The awards were presented on Nov. 10 at the ABA annual convention in Los Angeles. Joergens’ financial education outreach includes a 12-steps presentation that he developed for participants of the Henderson County Detention Center’s Substance Abuse Program. Additionally Joergens volunteers with HOPE Hall, the Salvation Army, Churches Embracing Offenders and area domestic abuse shelters. Nadine S. Givens, senior vice president/director of wealth management, PNC Financial Services, Indianapolis, has been named to the 2015 Women of Influence class by the Indianapolis Business Journal. The program recognizes women who have risen to the highest levels of business, the arts, and community and public service in central Indiana. Givens has past experience with Northern Trust Company and Indiana National Bank. 1st Source Bank, South Bend, has been honored with the Best Branches in the Midwest award, according to The MSR Group, a research firm that specializes in customer experience in retail banking. The award is part of the group’s Best in Retail Banking Awards. Garry Kleer, president/CEO, First Bank Richmond, NA, has been inducted into the Junior Achievement of Eastern Indiana Business Hall of Fame in recognition of his industry and community contributions. His involvement includes: board member and past president of the Boys and Girls Club; president of the Richmond Symphony Orchestra; member of the Wayne County Revolving Loan Fund; member of the Reid Health Foundation; and member of the Dunn Center/Centerstone Foundation. Kleer also has served with Junior Achievement, Communities in Schools, Leadership Wayne County, Richmond Sanitary District, Richmond Redevelopment Commission, Richmond Civic Theatre, Chamber of Commerce, Achieva Resources, Wernle Youth and Family Treatment Center, First Tee, Richmond Evening Optimist, Seton Catholic Schools and the Townsend Center. Three employees of IBA-member institutions were honored by Junior Achievement of Central Indiana Inc. as recipients of its 2015 Indy’s Best and Brightest award. The event honored professionals under the age of 40 in 10 different industries.
