Voss, 91, retired president of Seymour National Bank and past president of the Indiana Bankers Association, died March 6. He worked briefly with George S. Olive Company in Indianapolis before being elected director of the bank in 1966, trust officer in 1967 and president from 1970 to 1986. In addition to serving as 1977-78 IBA president, Voss was a member of the boards of directors of the American Bankers Association and of the Louisville branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. He also was a retired partner of Voss & Sons Funeral Service and was appointed to the State Board of Embalmers and Funeral Directors. Community leadership positions included the Seymour Chamber of Commerce, Seymour Public Library Trustees Association, Seymour Aviation Commission, Jackson County Industrial Development Corp., Community Foundation of Jackson County, Seymour Community Middle School Corp., Seymour Economic Development Commission, Habitat for Humanity and Jackson County Hospice. He was the oldest living member of the Seymour BPO Elks, and in 1988 was granted the Seymour Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year award. A life member of the American Legion, Voss served in World War II as a first lieutenant, European Theatre, Asiatic Pacific and Army of Occupation, Japan.
