MutualBank, Muncie, has donated a combined total of $125,000 to 10 Indiana community foundations through MutualBank Charitable Foundation, in honor of the bank’s 125th anniversary. The funds will be matched from the Lilly Endowment’s Gift VI and, in some cases, by other local funds, resulting in a grand total exceeding $300,000. The receiving community foundations are located in the counties of Allen, Delaware, Elkhart, Grant, Hamilton, Kosciusko, Montgomery, Randolph, St. Joseph and Wabash. West End Bank, Richmond, donated $5,000 to the Richmond Community Schools in March for the Communities in Schools program. Operated at Richmond High School, the program surrounds students with community-wide support to encourage them to stay in school. The bank provides the We R Savers program, which consists of student-operated banks and financial literacy sessions. West End Bank, Richmond, selects a nonprofit organization each month as a focus for charitable efforts. For March, the bank selected Help the Animals Inc., donating $543 from internal employee donations to the organization. t 1st Source Bank, South Bend, donated $25,000 in February to Bishop Dwenger High School for its Golden Traditions Capital Campaign. The funds will be used to assist the next phase of construction and renovation plans for the school. 1st Source Bank, South Bend, donated $5,000 in March to the Swanson Center for a bus stop at the new Michigan City facility. The donation will ensure that Swanson Center clients who use public transportation will have an easy-access shelter while waiting at the bus stop. iAB Financial Bank, Fort Wayne, donated $1,000 in March to Cancer Services of Northeast Indiana to celebrate milestone work anniversaries of five years or longer for 33 employees.
