30 Hoosier Banker August 2015 United Bank, Evansville, hosted the bank’s 14th Community Day at the Bell Oaks banking center on June 6. The event celebrated the Warrick County community by welcoming 35 local organizations to share information about their services with 500 visitors. Salin Bank, Indianapolis, awarded a total of $22,000 to 11 Indiana students to be used for tuition assistance at an accredited two or four-year college or vocational school. The program, in its 15th year, assists higher education needs of high school seniors from more than 22 schools in communities served by the bank. The $2,000 scholarships were awarded based on academic achievement, demonstrated leadership in school and community activities, and educational goals of the students. Citizens Bank, Mooresville, donated $2,265 to the Morgan County Humane Society in June. Funds were raised through the bank’s Casual for a Cause initiative, which encourages employees to donate a set weekly amount in exchange for wearing jeans on Fridays.
