The donation will be used to help provide up to 4,000 meals to families in need. On July 2 the bank donated $1,000 to the Christian Love Help Center of Henry County. The donation will be used to fund the center’s shelter, food and clothing needs. West End Bank, Richmond, sponsored the MBIII (Mr. Basketball Three) Youth Basketball Camp at Earlham College on June 12. The bank donated $1,000 to the camp, which taught the fundamentals of basketball to children between the ages of 7 and 12. Three former Indiana Mr. Basketball winners instructed the camp and included Lyndon Jones and Jay Edwards, who both attended Marion High School and Indian University, and Woody Austin, who attended Richmond High School and Purdue University. Alan Dale Shepard, 53, executive vice president-senior lending officer of First Savings Bank, Clarksville, died June 28. He began his banking career 28 years ago and joined First Savings Bank in 2008. A graduate of Indiana University, Shepard gave generously of his time to Saint Mary of the Knobs as finance committee chairman and to numerous other organizations, including the American Cancer Society, Boy Scouts of America, Metro United Way, St. Elizabeth’s Home/Catholic Charities and March2Recovery after the Henryville tornadoes. Patricia M. Holden, 57, senior vice president at Bank of America, Chicago, died June 29. She joined the bank in 2001 and served in state and local government relations. Previously Holden served as vice president of state affairs for the American Insurance Association and as Midwest director of government affairs for Philip Morris. Among other activities, she was a member of the board of directors of the State Government Affairs Council, president of the industry advisory council of the National Conference of Insurance Legislators, a commissioner of the Hoffman Estates Park District and a volunteer with After School Matters.
