21 Hoosier Banker September 2015 Charles M. “Mike” Stegall has retired as president and chief executive officer of Community First Bank of Indiana, Kokomo. He will continue to serve on the bank board of directors. Stegall began his banking career in 1981 as vice president of commercial lending with First National Bank and was promoted to president in 1998, where he remained until 2002. He opened Community First Bank of Indiana in 2003, serving as president and CEO. Stegall is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. C.E. “Rusty” Coffing has retired from the board of directors of Hoosier Heartland State Bank, Crawfordsville. He served with the bank and with Linden State Bank in several positions over his 41-year banking career, including positions as president, chief administrative officer and chairman of the board. Coffing retired from the bank in 2012, while continuing to serve on the board. He is a member of the Indiana Bankers Association Forty Year Club. Gerald “Jerry” R. Skrabala has retired as president and chief executive officer of Lake Federal Bank, FSB, Hammond. He has served 24 years with the bank during his 43-year banking career. Skrabala will continue to serve on the bank’s board of directors. He previously served as: northwest region director of the Indiana Bankers Association, board member of the Hammond Urban Enterprise Association, president of Hammond Central Lions Club, chairman of Hammond Annual Christmas Parade, board member and instructor for the Institute of Financial Institutions Chicago Chapter 64,board member of Crossroads YMCA and volunteer for Habitat for Humanity. Skrabala is a member of the IBA Forty Year Club. Bonnie Cox has retired from Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company, French Lick, as assistant vice president and assistant trust officer.
