The bank raised more than $5,000 and donated the funds in October to local cancer programs in each of the seven counties the bank serves. The funds were used to provide mammograms, cervical cancer screenings, transportation to treatments, medical supplies and support systems. Citizens State Bank, New Castle, in partnership with the South Bend Medical Foundation, operated a blood drive. The drive resulted in 50 participants donating a total of 45 units of blood, with a potential benefit of saving 135 lives.
