28 Hoosier Banker November 2016 hONOraBle MeNtiONs Gene Miles, president and chief executive officer of First Farmers Bank and Trust Company, Converse, has been honored with the American Bankers Association 2016 Bruning Award. Miles was recognized for his leadership and dedication to providing credit and financial guidance to farmers and businesses in rural America. He has been an agricultural banker for more than 35 years and was featured as the cover story profile of the May 2016 Hoosier Banker magazine. Miles is being presented with the award at the ABA National Agricultural Bankers Conference in November in Indianapolis. Old National Bank, Evansville, and First Bank Richmond, NA, were announced winners of the inaugural American Bankers Association Bank Marketing Video Contest during the ABA Bank Marketing Conference in September in Nashville, Tenn. Old National Bank was honored with Best of Show for “Through the Years,” depicting one family’s long-term relationship with the bank. The video also was voted Marketer’s Choice. First Bank Richmond, NA, won best in the asset category size of $500 million to $1 billion for its “Modern Fit Checking” video, highlighting variable checking account opportunities. The bank was one of six nationwide to be selected, winning in the area of volunteerism for its 100 Men Who Cook Initiative, a fundraising event in which local celebrity chefs volunteer their time and talent to prepare food for the community. Through the initiative, the bank has raised more than $3.2 million for area charities. The award was presented at ABA’s Annual Convention in October in Nashville, Tenn. Gregerson, president and chief executive officer of The Farmers Bank, Frankfort, has been honored as a 2016 Outstanding Woman in Banking by NorthWestern Financial Review magazine. She also is a director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. Gregerson joined The Farmers Bank in April after 34 years of experience with STAR Bank, Fort Wayne, where she served as audit and tax manager, controller, chief financial officer and president of STAR Trust Company. She has been active on the boards of Girl Scouts of America, St. Martin de Porres Community Center, Habitat for Humanity, Matthew 25 Health and Dental Clinic, and Junior Achievement. Additionally Gregerson has volunteered for the United Way of Allen County and is a past president of the school board of Bishop Luers High School. t
