He has nearly 30 years of banking and insurance experience, including 10 years with the bank, most recently serving as president of the bank’s insurance division. Strafford is a board member and past board chair with the United Way of St. Joseph County, secretary of the St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church parish council and a volunteer with Junior Achievement. He is a certified financial planner, certified trust and financial adviser, chartered mutual fund counselor, chartered retirement plan specialist and chartered retirement planning counselor. Additionally he holds Indiana life/health/property/casualty licenses and Indiana long-term care partner plan certification. Strafford is a graduate of Indiana University. Luis Zapata, financial wellness administrator, has been promoted to vice president. He is active with Bridges out of Poverty, the Latino Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement. Zapata is a 2016 “Forty under 40” honoree with the St. Joseph County Chamber of Commerce, and he has received the South Bend Human Rights Commission Human Rights Service Award. Zapata earned a bachelor’s degree from Tecnologico De Monterrey in Mexico and an MBA from the University of Notre Dame. Andrea Soule, personal trust administrator, has been promoted to officer. She has 14 years of banking experience. She has 22 years of banking experience, including retail, commercial and business banking. Kazmi serves as treasurer of the AM McGregor Home for the Aging and as a member of the board of directors of the Domestic Violence Child Advocacy Center. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. Kameron Helmuth has been named assistant vice president and client adviser for wealth management, northern Indiana. He has five years of banking experience, most recently serving as an investment adviser. Helmuth is vice president of Allen County’s Towne Square housing association. Castaneda earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University-South Bend. First Financial Bank, NA, Terre Haute Andrew J. Decker has been promoted to assistant vice president and trust officer, asset management. He joined the bank in 2008 as trust officer. He has 13 years of banking experience, with five years in mortgage lending and eight years in trust and asset management. Decker is a board member of Happiness Bag Inc., a volunteer for Bikes for Tykes and a coach for Upward Sports. He earned a bachelor’s degree and a JD from the University of Florida, and he is a graduate of the Cannon Trust School. Katherine EC Simons has joined the bank as assistant trust officer, asset management/ trust services. She is a member of the paralegal advisory board of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, where she also tutors; additionally, she volunteers with Girl Scouts of America. Simons earned a bachelor’s degree from Saint Maryof-the-Woods College and a JD from the University of Dayton. Kim Norris has been promoted to home equity manager, home equity installment lending. She has 19 years of experience with the bank, serving previously as home equity supervisor, home equity processor, credit card clerk and commercial lending clerk.
