The donation will be used to further charitable and philanthropic interests in the county. 1st Source Bank, South Bend, donated $65,000 in January to Ancilla College to be used as an early-bird gift during the quiet phase of the college’s upcoming comprehensive campaign. The bank previously supported a new 100-bed residence hall and 150-capacity student life center/dining hall that was completed in 2015. 1st Source Bank, South Bend, donated $10,000 in January to Family Focus. The donation will be used for their Kids in Difficult Situations (KIDS) Program that provides homebased therapy for families in need of services. 1st Source Bank, South Bend, donated $7,500 in February to Healthier Moms and Babies. The funds will be used to assist in the efforts to reduce infant mortality and improve the outcome of pregnancies for women in Allen County. The La Porte Savings Bank donated $500 to the Westville Community Volunteer Fire Department in January. The donation recognized the work and dedication of the volunteers. West End Bank, Richmond, selects a nonprofit organization each month as a focus for charitable efforts. For December, the bank selected three organizations, donating $315 to Salvation Army, $100 to the Liberty Lions Club and $100 to the Nettle Creek Lions Club. For January, the bank selected The Townsend Community Center, donating $355.
