Bochnowski has announced his retirement as chief executive officer of Peoples Bank, Munster, and its holding company NorthWest Indiana Bancorp, effective April 28. He will retain his positions on the boards of both companies as executive chairman. Bochnowski joined the bank in 1977 and was named CEO in 1981 and chairman in 1995. He is past chairman of America’s Community Bankers, of the Indiana League of Savings Institutions and of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions. Additionally he is a former director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis and a former member of the Federal Reserve Thrift Institutions Advisory Committee. Bochnowski earned bachelor’s and JD degrees from Georgetown University and a master’s degree from Howard University. He served as a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army in Vietnam, 1970-71, and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his service in that conflict. Jon Williams has retired from the board of directors of CITBA Financial Corp. and Citizens Bank, Mooresville. He joined the board in 2006. Ed Hines, chief financial officer and senior vice president of Owen County State Bank, Spencer, has retired after 39 years of service. A graduate of Indiana University, he is a member of the Indiana CPA Society and of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
