For February the bank selected Animal Care Alliance, donating $505 to the organization. Kentland Bank associates participated in hand-making Valentine’s Day cards for local veterans in honor of their service. A total of 131 cards were mailed to local veterans.t First Savings Bank, Clarksville, awarded Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana with a $75,000 grant in December from the First Savings Charitable Foundation. The grant will serve approximately 3,500 southern Indiana students in Clark, Crawford and Washington counties, allowing them to participate in two capstone programs, Sam Swope JA BizTown and Chase JA Finance Park. The Farmers Bank, Frankfort, donated $125,000 in February to the Clinton County Community Foundation in honor of the late Karen I. Miller, former foundation board member, bank president and member of the Indiana Bankers Association board of directors. The donation qualifies for the Lilly Endowment match initiative. Owen County State Bank, Spencer, is the official sponsor of three Little Free Libraries. The bank partnered with the Owen County Public Library and Duke Energy to establish the libraries to promote literacy and a sense of community ownership. Continued from facing page. g Save the Dates g 2016 IBA Annual Washington Trip September 25-27 The IBA Annual Washington Trip gives bankers the opportunity to talk with legislators and regulators about the successes and concerns of Indiana’s banking industry.These officials welcome hearing from bankers firsthand, and bankers gain an opportunity to explain to policymakers how excessive rules and regulations affect consumers. Bankers who have attended past Washington visits were able to address problems and raise issues of concern to policymakers face-toface.The trip is planned for maximum contact and productivity.
