Jordan YMCA and Martinsville Youth Development Center on April 21. The Barbara B. Jordan YMCA will use the funds to construct a permanent shelter at Highland Lakes Camp near Monrovia for summer camp opportunities for children. The Martinsville Youth Development Center will use the donation to provide hands-on instruction and experience in the technology center. Centier Bank, Northern Indiana, in coordination with CRA Partners (formerly Senior Housing Crime Prevention Foundation) donated $250 to the “Make A Wish Come True” campaign for the Byron Health Center in Fort Wayne. The donation will allow a resident of the facility to train toward her goal of finishing the “Fort 4 Fitness” fourmile run/walk without her wheel chair. Overall the bank has invested $3 million in the Foundation, with a portion of all funds benefiting the Byron Health Center. PNC Bank, NA, Indianapolis, toured the new Turnstone Plassman Center with Fort Wayne Mayor Tom Henry and members of the Fort Wayne New Markets Revitalization Fund. The center is the official training facility of the men’s U.S. National Goalball team, which will be traveling to West End Bank, Richmond, selects a nonprofit organization each month as a focus for charitable efforts. For April, the bank selected The Pro’s Players FORE Parkinson’s, donating $620 to the organization. West End Bank, Richmond, donated $100,000 from the West End Bank Charitable Foundation in April to Indiana University East to assist in the construction of a new Student Activity Center in Richmond. The center will include the West End Bank Plaza as a result of the donation. Community First Bank of Indiana, Kokomo, participated in a local charity walk to benefit a local domestic violence shelter operated through the Family Service Association of Howard County. Bank employees raised $1,439 for the “Not on Our Campus – Not in Our Community Angel Walk.” Home Bank, Martinsville, donated $500 to the City of Martinsville to help raise funds to replace soonto-be outdated bullet-proof vests for the city’s police department.
