30 JANUARY / FEBRUARY 2017 Michael H. Head, immediate past chair, is president, chief executive officer and a director of First Federal Savings Bank, Evansville, which he joined in 1980. He has served as a board member of the University of Southern Indiana (USI) Foundation, Deaconess Health System and Habitat for Humanity of Evansville. Head currently is serving on the advisory board of the USI Romain School of Business, the West Side Professional and Business Association and as treasurer of the St. Mary’s Medical Center Foundation board. He also serves as a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America lending committee, and he has served on the board of the Indiana Bankers Association as chair, first vice chair, second vice chair and as a southwest region director. Head earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern Indiana and an MBA from the University of Evansville. Amber R. Van Til, IBA president and chief executive officer, was named to her position effective Jan. 1. She previously had been serving as president since March 31, 2016, when she was named successor to retiring chief executive S. Joe DeHaven. Van Til also serves as an IBA Health Insurance trustee. She joined the Association in 2002 as a lobbyist and has served as vice president-government relations, as senior vice president-government relations and as executive vice president. He additionally serves on various other civic and community boards and has served on the board of the Indiana Bankers Association as second vice chair and as southwest region director. Ewing is a graduate of Lockyear College and of The School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin. Andrew J. Briggs, second vice chair, is president and chief executive officer of the Bank of Geneva. He is the fifth generation member of his family to serve as president of the bank. Briggs has 40 years of banking experience and has been serving in his current position since 1994. He is past president of the Geneva Town Council and past treasurer of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. Additionally Briggs is active on the following boards: Bank of Geneva, chairman; Limberlost Bancshares Inc., chairman; Indiana State Museum, treasurer; Limberlost State Historic Site, corporate secretary; Northeast Indiana Regional Development Authority, director; Adams County Economic Development, treasurer; and Adams Public Library System, treasurer. He has served on the board of the Indiana Bankers Association as northeast region director, and he is a member of the IBA Forty Year Club. Prochnow Educational Foundation; serves on the boards of directors of the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corp., Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute and Indiana Legal Foundation; and is a member of the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana, The Columbia Club and the Indiana Society of Association Executives. Additionally she has served with the Interim Study Committee on Mortgage Lending Practices and Home Loan Foreclosures, Indiana Foreclosure Prevention Network and Indiana’s Hardest Hit Fund.
