The facility was originally opened in 1993. HB Home Bank, Martinsville, donated $18,000 in November to the Indiana Dream Team. The donation is for the purchase of a 15-passenger van to provide transportation for the organization’s programs. The bank partnered with Greg Hubler Chevrolet to secure a van that will meet the nonprofit’s needs. The Indiana Dream Team, established in 2004 with a vision to create a group home facility for young men, provides classes for life skills and character-building, GED preparation, work experience, family restoration and opportunities for community outreach. First Savings Bank, Clarksville, has committed $50,000 annually to the Indiana University Foundation to assist in featuring prominent speakers to offer their compelling stories and insights to Indiana University Southeast and the surrounding community. The speaker for the inaugural First Savings Bank Speaker Series at Indiana University Southeast last November was Ben Stein, a political economist and humorist. iAB Financial Bank, Fort Wayne, donated $650 in October 2016 to Christian Community Health Care. The funds are to aid in the organization’s mission to make a difference in the lives of medically underserved families who are in need of care and encouragement. iAB Financial Bank, Fort Wayne, held its fourth annual iCare Day by volunteering at 25 local charitable organizations. Nearly 300 employees volunteered at facilities in Allen, Huntington, Marshall and Wells counties, completing tasks including painting, cleaning, landscaping, packing donation boxes and serving meals. Among the organizations that the bank assisted are Big Brothers Big Sisters Northeast Indiana, Community Harvest Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Rescue Mission and Wells Community Boys & Girls Club. First Federal Savings Bank, Huntington, and Steve and Alyce Zahn have donated $40,000 to Huntington University. The funds will be allocated to the university’s recently completed welcome center, a 3,000-squarefoot space that houses undergraduate and graduate admissions offices and meeting spaces for prospective students and campus visitors. Stephen Zahn, chairman of the board of First Federal Savings Bank, served as director of the Huntington University Foundation and board of trustees. He is a member of the Milton Wright Fellowship and has received the university’s Distinguished Service Award. Michael Zahn, president and chief executive officer of the bank, serves as vice president of finance for the Huntington University Foundation board of directors, and he is a member of the Milton Wright Fellowship. FCN Bank donates its Everton bank branch to the town on Nov. 22.
