26 MAY / JUNE 2017 DEPARTMENTS Lucas White, president of The Fountain Trust Company, Covington, has been elected an at-large director of the Independent Community Bankers of America. White joined The Fountain Trust Company in 1994 as a part-time teller while attending high school. He is a graduate of Indiana University and of the I.U. School of Law as Order of the Coif. White has served the Indiana Bankers Association as a past board member and as past president of the IBA Future Leadership Division. Mark A. Schroeder, chairman and chief executive officer of German American Bancorp, Jasper, was honored on March 13 with a concurrent resolution by the Indiana Senate and House. The resolution honored Schroeder for being named by American Banker magazine as one of three nationwide Community Bankers of the Year for 2016. The resolution was authored by Sen. Mark Messmer and sponsored by Rep. Mike Braun. Schroeder joined German American in 1972 as a vault teller and served in multiple positions before being named CEO in 1999. He has been active with the Community Bankers Association of Indiana, Indiana Bankers Association, Independent Community Bankers of America and the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Currently Schroeder serves as a board member of ICBA Bancard and as vice chairman of the board of directors of the Indiana Department of Financial Institutions. A certified public accountant, he is a graduate of the University of Evansville and of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking. Schroeder is a member of the IBA 40 Year Club. S. Joe DeHaven, retired chief executive officer of the Indiana Bankers Association, has been recognized by the Independent Community Bankers of America for his 47 years of service to banking.
