46 NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2017 First Bank Richmond participated in several community activities in recent months: a Habitat for Humanity Women’s Build, sponsorship support of the Visit Levi and Catharine Coffin State Historic Site, a bowling fundraiser for the Shelby County Youth Assistance Program; a bike tour fundraiser for the Wayne County Cardinal Greenway; sale of “Paws 4 Love” for H.E.L.P. the Animal Shelter; Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society; and, in September, participation in the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. Memory Walk participants raised $2,558 for the association. First State Bank of Middlebury donated $10,000 in August to the Pumpkinvine Nature Trail Project. The project expands the trail from County Road 20 to County Road 35. The PNC Foundation and PNC Bank, NA, in September donated $500,000 for disaster relief efforts: a $250,000 grant to the American Red Cross to be used for efforts related to Hurricane Irma, and a pool of $250,000 in funding to be allocated in the impacted communities. The foundation also is matching employee contributions to the American Red Cross that support the Hurricane Irma relief effort, up to a total of $150,000. In August, Citizens Bank, Mooresville, donated $2,500 to Family Promise of Hendricks County, an organization which addresses the short- and long-term needs of homeless families. The donation commemorated the bank’s grand opening of its relocated Avon branch. In August, Bath State Bank hosted its annual Customer Appreciation Day, serving a picnic pork dinner and ice cream, and providing train rides and a photo booth. HB Farmers State Bank, LaGrange, donated $1,000 in August to Agape Missions of LaGrange County, an organization which provides temporary emergency housing for the homeless of LaGrange County. The donation is to go toward a new roof for the property. Home Bank, Martinsville, in August selected Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis as the recipient of $10,000 through the bank’s community gifting program. Presentation of the check was made in conjunction with service by a team from Home Bank on a Habitat build in Plainfield.
