He has 20 years of banking experience and served in management roles for two banks in Indiana. He is a member of Greater Lafayette Commerce, the Greater Lafayette Chamber Council, soccer coach for GLRSA and a past Cub Scout leader. He previously was the local city president for Regions Bank in the Greater Lafayette market. Blume is a graduate of Purdue University and of Leadership Lafayette. for Humanity, where he served on the board for three years.
