42 MAY / JUNE 2018 DEPARTMENTS Jim Marcuccilli, chairman and CEO of STAR Bank, Fort Wayne, has been named 2018 Legend of Leadership by the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly. The honor was presented at an awards breakfast on March 9. The Legend of Leadership award recognizes a northeast Indiana business leader who has demonstrated exceptional leadership. Marcuccilli joined STAR Bank in 1973 and has been active on local and state boards. Currently he serves as a board member for the Ivy Tech Foundation, Regional Chamber of Northeast Indiana, University of Notre Dame Science Advisory Board, Indiana State Chamber, Junior Achievement Foundation, Steel Dynamics, and is a founding member of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. Marcuccilli served the Indiana Bankers Association as chairman in 2013. David W. Heeter, president and CEO of MutualFirst Financial Inc. and MutualBank, Muncie, was honored with the 2018 Al Rent Spirit of Muncie Award on March 22. Presented annually by the Muncie-Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, the award recognizes a Chamber volunteer who exemplifies leadership, community service and positive attitude. Heeter served the Indiana Bankers Association as chairman in 2014. Marvin Veatch, president and CEO of Jackson County Bank, Seymour, has been appointed to the Community Depository Institutions Advisory Council of the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. His appointment is for a three-year term, ending in 2020. Members of the 12-person advisory council, established by the St. Louis Fed in 2011, are executives of smaller financial institutions headquartered across the Federal Reserve’s Eighth District. Council members advise St. Louis Fed President James Bullard on the credit, banking and economic conditions facing their institutions and local communities. Carrie Kosac, vice president and small business market manager of 1st Source Bank, South Bend, has joined the northern loan committee of the Indiana Statewide Certified Development Corp. The Indiana Statewide CDC is affiliated with Cambridge Capital Management Corp., Indianapolis, an associate member of the Indiana Bankers Association.
