Hoosier Banker 53 Susan Knochel has been promoted to vice president. She joined the bank in 1987 as receptionist, transitioned from vault teller to financial services representative, and in 2003 was promoted to assistant vice president. Knochel serves as treasurer for the Newton County Republican Party and as a board member of Kentland Retail Merchants. KENTLAND BANK Kirby Drey has been promoted to executive vice president/chief financial officer. Most recently he was senior vice president/ chief financial officer. Drey joined the bank in 2007, after prior employment with ProfitStars, Omaha, Nebraska; with BB&T, Lexington, Kentucky; and on his family farm in Iowa. He serves the Indiana Bankers Association as president of the Future Leadership Division and as a member of the IBA board of directors. Additionally Drey is president of the South Newton Junior Achievement board, president of the Kentland Chamber of Commerce and fundraising chair for the Kentland Rotary Club. He is a graduate of Buena Vista University. STOCK YARDS BANCORP INC. / Louisville, Kentucky James A. “Ja” Hillebrand, president of Stock Yards Bancorp Inc. and of Stock Yards Bank & Trust Company, has been designated CEO of the holding company, effective Oct. 1. He has been a member of the board of directors since 2008. Hillebrand joined the company in 1996 to develop its private banking group, and he served as executive vice president and as director of private banking until 2008. He is a member of the boards of the Kentucky Bankers Association, Boy Scouts of America-Lincoln Heritage Council, St. Joseph Children’s Home, and the Fund for the Arts. Hillebrand is a past chairman of the Kentucky Derby Festival and a past board chair of the SJ Kids Foundation. He is a graduate of Bellarmine University. David P. Heintzman is to retire as CEO of the holding company, effective Oct. 1. He will then move into the role of executive chairman of the board through 2018 and continue as chairman thereafter. Heintzman joined the company in 1985 and has served as chief financial officer and executive vice president. He was elected president in 1992 and chairman and CEO in 2005. Philip S. Poindexter, executive vice president and chief lending officer, is to become president of the company and the bank, effective Oct. 1. He joined the company in 2004 as executive vice president and director of commercial lending. Poindexter has nearly 30 years of banking experience. He serves on the Louisville Sports Commission board as treasurer, and he has served in leadership roles with the Kentucky Center for the Arts, Kentucky Country Day School and Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. Poindexter is a graduate of Indiana University. FIRST FEDERAL SAVINGS BANK / Huntington Andrew Martin has joined the bank as a business banker, Fort Wayne market. He has seven years of previous banking experience and has earned an MBA.
