Jones, chairman and CEO of Old National Bancorp, Evansville, has been appointed by the American Bankers Association as chairman of the American Bankers Council for the 2018-19 membership year. The council is ABA’s banker-driven peer group for midsize bank chief executives. Jones joined Old National in 2004 after 25 years of prior service with KeyCorp. Under his tenure, Old National has received national recognition, including being named one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by Ethisphere Institute and one of the Best Banks to Work for by American Banker magazine, as well as receiving the Employee Volunteer Program of the Year award from VolunteerMatch and the Worklife Seal of Distinction. Jones serves on multiple nonprofit boards and has appeared on Fox News, Fox Business News, CNBC and Bloomberg Television. Kristin Marcuccilli, executive vice president and chief operating officer of STAR Bank, Fort Wayne, was honored as a Rising Star of Banking in the July edition of BankBeat magazine, formerly NorthWestern Financial Review. She joined the bank in 2008 and was promoted to her current position in 2013. Previously she worked in operations at the football office of the University of Notre Dame and at the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis. Marcuccilli has served the Indiana Bankers Association as president of the Future Leadership Division and as a member of the board of directors. Additionally she serves on the boards of the Indiana Economic Development Corp., Arts United, Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, Greater Fort Wayne Inc., Indiana State Chamber of Commerce and the Indiana Technology and Innovation Council. She also is a founding member of Touchdown for Kids, and earlier this year she was named to the Greater Fort Wayne Business Weekly Forty Under 40 list. Marcuccilli earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame, an MBA from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business, and she has completed the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking, through which she is a Wharton Leadership Certificate recipient. Kayla A. Konger, vice president and senior retail officer of Garrett State Bank, was honored as a Rising Star of Banking in the July edition of BankBeat magazine, formerly NorthWestern Financial Review. She joined the bank 13 years ago as a part-time teller during high school. She continued to intern while studying at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, progressing to customer service representative and to customer service supervisor. Upon graduate, Konger joined the bank full-time in the retail division, then joined the lending division, eventually rising to the level of assistant vice president. Additionally she has completed studies at the Barret Graduate School of Banking. J. Craig Buse, senior executive vice president and chief lending officer of Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company, French Lick, has been recognized by Banking Exchange magazine with a 20 Under 40 award. Buse joined the bank in 2002 and has served in several positions. He was honored with the Independent Community Bankers of America Rising Star award in 2009. Buse is a member and past board member of the Indiana Bankers Association Future Leadership Division; president-elect of the Rotary Club of Jasper; a member of the Northwood Good Samaritan advisory board; and a youth sports coach. He earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Capella University, is a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and has completed the Dubois County Leadership Academy. Springs Valley Bank & Trust Company, French Lick, is showcased in the cover story of the August issue of Independent Banker magazine as one of the nation’s 20 most innovative community banks. The bank is recognized for spearheading the Valley Housing Initiative effort, which addresses a housing shortage for employees of French Lick Resort. In addition to bringing together a coalition of area contractors, city officials and other key players, Springs Valley Bank has set aside $1 million for low-down-payment construction loans. Jennifer Mott, senior vice president, retail banking executive of WesBanco Bank, Cincinnati office, has been recognized by Banking Exchange magazine with a 20 Under 40 award. She leads more than 170 banking centers across Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Kentucky. Mott has more than 20 years of experience in retail banking, having served the Cincinnati and Indianapolis markets at both Fifth Third Bank and First Financial Bank, before joining WesBanco earlier this year. She is a graduate of Thomas More College and of the University of Cincinnati.
