Hoosier Banker 51 Timothy Spence, executive vice president and head of payments, strategy and digital solutions at Fifth Third Bank, Cincinnati, was named 2018 Digital Banker of the Year by American Banker magazine. He was honored for his leadership in the company’s holistic digital transformation. Spence joined Fifth Third as chief strategy officer in 2015. Previously he was a senior partner in the financial services practice group of Oliver Wyman, where he also served as U.S. Midwest region leader. Prior to Oliver Wyman, Spence held management positions at two early-stage technology firms. He is a graduate of Colgate University. Two executives of German American Bancorp Inc., Jasper, have presented at a Keefe Bruyette & Woods community bank investor conference in New York City. Mark A. Schroeder, chairman and CEO of German American, and Bradley M. Rust, executive vice president and chief financial officer, presented the company’s business strategy and financial performance on July 31.
