50 NOVEMBER / DECEMBER 2018 Farmers State Bank, LaGrange, donated $1,000 in August to Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that provides beds to area children and families in need. The funds were collected through the bank’s Blue Button Jean-erosity program, which allows employees to wear blue jeans on specific days for small monetary donations to support local community organizations. First Bank Richmond donated nearly $12,000 in June to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life event. The bank provided a corporate sponsorship of $2,500, which was bolstered by in-house fundraisers, with assistance from friends, family and community. Employees of the bank also recently came together to support Community in Schools of Wayne County by donating a van load of school supplies.
