HB Michelle Long Marcy Borden IBA EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH Claiborn M. “Clip” Wamsley, 93, chairman and CEO of The First National Bank, Monterey, died Jan. 27. He had been with the bank since 1950 and was named president in 1962. Wamsley served the Community Bankers Association of Indiana as 1991-92 chairman and was a member of the Indiana Bankers Association 40 Year Club. Additionally, he was past treasurer of the Monterey Lions Club, past member of the Monterey Volunteer Fire Department, official scorekeeper for the Monterey and Culver Community high schools from 1962 to 2010, a member of the Pulaski County Sheriff Merit Board and trustee of the Riverside Cemetery in Monterey. Honored as a Sagamore of the Wabash, Wamsley was a graduate of Franklin College and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy.
