40 MARCH / APRIL 2019 Mandy M. Parris, executive director of Chase Bank, Indianapolis, has been named to the Forty Under 40 list of the Indianapolis Business Journal. She has been with the bank for 17 years. Parris is president and a founding board member of Executive Women in Finance, serves as vice president and founding board member of Circle City Preparatory Charter School, and volunteers with Junior Achievement and Habitat for Humanity. She is a graduate of Indiana University. Peter Schmidt, vice president and information security officer of First Bank of Berne, has completed the FBI Chief Information Security Officer Academy in Quantico, Virginia. He was selected by the FBI’s Cyber Division as one of 30 individuals nationwide to participate in the academy, which allows cybersecurity professionals to work alongside the FBI, government agencies and their private sector peers to address cyber threats and solutions. Schmidt joined First Bank of Berne in 2010 and holds designations as a certified information systems security professional (CISSP), certified information security manager (CISM) and certified banking security manager (CBSM). He has completed the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin and its Bank Technology Security and Bank Technology Management schools. Two employees of Harbour Trust & Investment Management Company, Michigan City, were honored at the Michigan City Chamber Inspiring Women luncheon and program held in December. In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the event, the chamber recognized 100 inspiring women and their contributions to the chamber, the economy and the community. Among the honorees were Stephanie Oberlie, president and chief operating officer, and Sharon Ziething, executive assistant, both of Harbour Trust & Investment Management Company. Additionally, the keynote speaker was Vicki Henn, executive vice president and chief human resources officer for the PNC Financial Services Group. Several member institutions of the Indiana Bankers Association have been named to the “America’s Best Banks” list in the Jan. 16 edition of Forbes magazine.
