Hoosier Banker 55 CROSSROADS BANK / Wabash John Crowe has been promoted to vice president information technology director. He joined the bank in 2007 as systems administrator and later was promoted to IT manager and information security officer. Crowe began his IT career in 1998 at First National Bank & Trust in Kokomo, where he served as support technician, lead LAN technician, network support manager, IT manager assistant vice president and IT director vice president. He has served on the executive board and volunteered with the Peru Amateur Circus. Crowe is a graduate of Ivy Tech Community College. Rhonda Carr has been promoted to assistant vice president human resources director. She joined the bank in 2013 as human resources director and has more than 20 years of HR experience. Active with the Society for Human Resource Management, Carr serves on the SHRM executive board and is a past officeholder, including service as president. She has achieved designation as a professional human resources and SHRM-certified professional. Carr earned an associate’s degree from Ivy Tech Community College and a bachelor’s degree from Indiana Tech. CENTIER BANK / Merrillville Troy E. Kafka has been appointed market president serving the greater Indianapolis area. He has more than 25 years of banking experience. A member of the board of directors of the Children’s Bureau Inc., Kafka is a graduate of Indiana University. Tony Hobbs has joined the bank as mortgage loan originator serving greater Indianapolis out of the Zionsville branch. He has more than 25 years of mortgage and banking experience, primarily as a loan originator. Hobbs is a graduate of Mississippi Valley State University. Glenn Peterson has joined the bank as branch manager and assistant vice president, Elkhart north location. He has more than 25 years of retail banking experience. Peterson’s outreach includes board work with Ryan’s Place and BIKE Elkhart, and membership with the Elkhart Rotary Club. FIRST MERCHANTS BANK / Muncie Carrie Valek has been promoted to senior vice president and director of consumer banking. She joined the bank in 2012. Previously Valek was with Indiana Bank and Trust Company as senior vice president of retail banking, with Fifth Third Bank as regional manager of retail banking, and with National City Bank as senior vice president and retail market executive. Her volunteer work includes The Fortune Academy. Valek earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and an MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. HORIZON BANK / Michigan City Doug McCoy has been promoted to vice president, facilities and services. He joined the bank in 2017 with more than 15 years of experience in the management of services and facilities, outsourcing industry experience, site management, sales, implementation of new engagements and business leadership. HARBOUR TRUST & INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT COMPANY / Michigan City Brian Moore has joined the company as senior vice president and director of personal trust. He has 20 years of industry experience. Previously Moore was a vice president and wealth adviser for a regional bank and a founding team member of an independent wealth management and trust bank, serving as senior vice president and senior wealth adviser. Taylor Schlichter has joined the company as administrative assistant. She is a graduate of Indiana University. THE NEW WASHINGTON STATE BANK / Charlestown Amanda Matheny has joined the bank as vice president, commercial lender. She has more than 20 years of experience in banking with Your Community Bank and WesBanco Bank. A graduate of Indiana University, Matheny is a member of One Southern Indiana, the Building & Development Association of Southern Indiana and the Mortgage Bankers Association of Louisville. THE NAPOLEON STATE BANK Steve Huff has joined the bank as a lender with 15 years of lending experience. He serves as president of the board of directors of the Ripley County Community Foundation and as treasurer of the Napoleon Volunteer Fire Department. Huff earned a bachelor’s degree from Hanover College and has completed the Midwest Agricultural Banking School.
