Schroeder is active with Pathways Retreat and Northridge Dollars for Scholars, Little Saints Child Care, and the Northridge Band Boosters and Middlebury Music Parent Association. She has completed the Indiana Bankers Association Leadership Development Program. Lynda Hershberger has been promoted to banking officer and branch operations manager, Goshen office. She previously served as office manager. Hershberger joined the bank in 2017 and has 13 years of banking experience. Julie Whitehead has been named vice president talent and training coordinator. She previously served as talent and training coordinator for three years, and she has 35 years of banking experience. Whitehead is a board member of the Boys & Girls Club of Middlebury and of The Barn, a mental health clinic for Middlebury Community Schools, and is active with the Pet Partners International Pet Therapy Team. Brandon Williamson has joined the bank as a business development officer, Edison Lakes location. He has seven years of experience as a business development officer. Williamson serves on the board of directors for Junior Achievement and is an ambassador for the South Bend Regional Chamber and the Young Professional Network. He earned bachelor’s and MBA degrees from Bethel College. Lance T. Weirich, mortgage operations manager and mortgage loan originator, has additionally been named assistant vice president. He has been with the bank for nine years. Weirich volunteers as a junior high basketball coach. He is a graduate of Indiana University-Indianapolis and currently is enrolled in the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. Michael Zappia has joined the bank as vice president and commercial loan officer, St. Joseph County region. He has 25 years of prior experience, including 15 years in commercial lending in the northwest Indiana, South Bend, Indianapolis and Chicagoland markets. Zappia is a part-time firefighter and emergency medical technician for the Warren Township Fire Department and the Liberty Township Volunteer Fire Department; additionally, he is a volunteer first aid responder for the University of Notre Dame. He has been active with Habitat for Humanity, is a former Rotarian and has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. Shannon Klein has been named a vice president and trust officer. She previously served as assistant vice president for seven years. Klein has 20 years of banking experience. She chairs the United Way of Elkhart County and serves on the boards for Michiana Institute for Successful Aging and the Elkhart County Estate Planning Council. A certified trust and financial adviser, Klein has completed the Cannon Trust School. Darla Kauffman has been promoted to vice president and marketing director. She previously served as assistant vice president and marketing director. Kauffman has been with the bank for 27 years and has served on the electronic services and Treasury management teams. She teaches financial literacy to middle school and high school students, is a Junior Achievement volunteer for K-6th grades, and serves on the board of America’s Freedom Fest, Northridge Band Boosters and Middlebury Then & Now. A certified financial marketing professional, Kauffman has completed the American Bankers Association Bank Marketing School. WEST END BANK / Richmond Brad Wilson has been promoted to vice president and collections manager. He joined the bank in 2002 and has served as teller, management trainee, loan adjustor, loan originator and collections manager/loan officer before being named assistant vice president in 2013. Wilson earned a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University and an MBA from Ball State University. Greg Madden has been promoted to information security officer. He joined the bank in 2016 as security specialist. Madden holds designation as a certified information systems security professional and currently is completing a bachelor’s degree through Purdue University Global. He served in the U.S. Army from 2008 to 2012. Rhett Schroeder has been promoted to financial analyst/officer. He joined the bank in 2008 and has served as teller, loan adjustor, item processing coordinator, account analyst and financial analyst. Schroeder earned a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University.
