Hoosier Banker 49 PNC Bank, NA, delivered 5,000 books, supplies and iPads on June 25 to preschool partners in Indianapolis as part of the PNC Grow Up Great program for quality early childhood education. Connie Bond Stuart, PNC regional president, and bank volunteers delivered the materials to Teachers Treasures, IUPUI Center for Young Children, Edna Martin Christian Center and Hendricks County Head Start. This donation followed outreach in April, when bank staff built and delivered more than 60 tricycles and wagons to area preschool centers. Indiana Trust and Investment Management Company, Mishawaka, and the South Bend Symphony Orchestra have announced the 2019-20 season of “Indiana Trust Pops Series!” The series begins in October with “Women Rock!” It continues in February 2020 with “Hollywood Hits” and concludes in April 2020 with “West Side Story.” This season marks the bank’s second year of a multiyear partnership with the orchestra. HB Additionally, the bank is providing initiatives to increase mortgage lending to residents in Marion County’s majority-black neighborhoods and census tracts, including but not limited to: • $1.12 million in loan subsidy funds to borrowers in Marion County majority-black census tracts for assistance in down payments and closing costs; • $500,000 in grants to be shared by Mapleton-Fall Creek Development Corp., King Park Development Corp. and Near East Area Renewal; • $150,000 to the FHCCI for a fair lending educational and literacy program. Several member organizations of the Indiana Bankers Association participated in the annual heritage open golf tournament of the St. Vincent Evansville Foundation on June 10. This event supported the hospital’s newborn intensive care unit through the purchase of a neonatal air transport isolette, designed to provide life support to premature infants transferred via helicopter to St. Vincent Evansville. Golf legend Fuzzy Zoeller mingled with golfers throughout the day.
